Following Rules

A hundred people dyin'

What a terrible sight

I hope I got my pencil sharp

To get it down right

Thinking of a cover

Of a weekend magazine

Public recognition

And a thousand quid clean

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not my fault

I'm just following rules

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not my fault

I'm just following rules

Is he going to jump?

He may even fall

The corner popcorn vendor

He don't care at all

We're watching and we're waiting

His peculiar state

I hope me camera's working it

Want to look great

You may say I'm cruel

I learnt it in school

It's really not me fault

Just following rules

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not my fault

Just following rules

There's something quite exciting

In a racial riot

The uniform police are trying

To keep them quiet

The workers cannot stand it

And they run and riot

Hope I got my pencil sharp

Someone may buy it

You may say I'm cruel

I learnt it in school

It's really not me fault

Just following rules

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not me fault

Just following rules

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not me fault

Just following rules

You may say I'm cruel

But I learnt it in school

It's really not me fault

I'm just following rules
